Vote.

36.4%

That’s the percentage of eligible voters who actually cast a vote in the 2014 U.S. midterm elections. The lowest voter turnout in 70 years.

In 2018, we can do better. We must do better. We need to vote like our future depends on it. Because it does.

The Brass Tacks of Voting

Voting doesn’t have to be hard. It requires just a few steps:

  1. Make sure you’re registered. A handful of states offer same-day registration, but for most, you have to be registered in advance.

  2. Get to know your ballot and learn about the candidates.

  3. Do your research.

The League of Conservation Voters’ Environmental Scorecard provides scores for candidates who support (or don’t support) common-sense environmental policies.

The Outdoor Industry Association’s Scorecard gives candidates a letter grade for their support (or lack of support) for issues related to outdoor recreation and public lands protection.

  4. Find your polling place.

  5. Go vote! Better yet, bring a friend (or two or three) to vote with you.

Vote Your Values

We are. We’re supporting candidates who:

  • Know the value of public lands and wild places and work to protect them, not degrade or destroy them.

  • Acknowledge that climate change is a real and imminent threat, and are taking action to mitigate it now.

  • Value inclusivity and equality in nature…and everywhere.

Know of other resources that are helpful to voters? Or any tools for people who want candidates who care about the environment, public lands, climate change, equality, and inclusivity? Leave them in the comments below.
